What you are seeing
here is a quite well known eating place which has appeared in national
newspaper and has also been featured numerous times by local bloggers over the
years. Perhaps that could explain its popularity among students.
Recently, I happened
to pass by the area and noted the length of queue it had drawn. I understand
that the queue time can be as long as an hour. The business is good, no doubt
about it. But what surprised me is that the
restaurant appears to be the centre of attraction within the estate while the other
neighbouring eateries pale.
Old habits die hard
and being curious, I managed to have a chat with a resident (old lady) who
claimed to be the restaurant ex-employee. According to her, the restaurant was
opened about 15years ago (probably 2000/2001). I spoke to a neighbor shop
owner. He revealed to me that the restaurant only become prosperous about
7 years ago.
So what attracts
people from all over the island to visit this eating place located in this lay
back estate? Is it because of the good food or is it because of the
recommendations posted by the bloggers?
Let us take a look at
the restaurant’s Feng Shui. The restaurant (Facing is Gui 癸) sits on a sloping land. The front
side is of higher ground and ‘water’ flows with the road leading towards the
South West(SW) and East(E). Most practitioners will think that the Qi Kou (气口) is situated at the
SW and E. They are correct but they are also wrong. This is because at these
locations, the restaurant will never be this prosperous in Period 8. Could Liu
Fa be wrong? What do you think?
Let me point out a
few insights. Briefly, this is a typical example of environmental changes that
result in the change of formation. In year 2003/04 the market/food centre on
the right side of the eating place was rebuilt.
The open field at the left side
of the restaurant across the road is used to be occupied by shops. They are
demolished between year 2004 and 2008. Since then, activities in the estate
appear to tone down but giving a boost to the restaurant business.
The restaurant could
be receiving stagnant Qi coming from the South West and East, when it was opened
in the year 2000/01. If you think they are the reasons for the restaurant modest
business, I believe you are wrong. Since the slope of the roads remains till
today, therefore the restaurant should not be prosperous at all. But this conjecture
only suggests that the restaurant is not receiving Qi from the 2 locations.
Seeing Feng Shui is
akin to a doctor diagnosing the cause of an ailment. If the cause is removed,
the person becomes healthy again. So what is the ‘cause’ that is being removed
during the transformation? I would not comment as I was not there during that
time to 'See' the Ci Xiong. But one thing for sure, I was there recently to check
out the site. The answer lies in Ci and Xiong only.
I must admit this site
poses a certain level of challenge in recognizing the formation (even to a Liu
Fa practitioner). One may say the business prospers because of the food bloggers
and internet. Well, I do agree but the point is why would the first blogger wanted
to visit this outlet and started posting about it? Next point is when did the blogger first visit
the restaurant? Apparently, the earliest
blog about this restaurant that I can find through google is year 2008/09. By observing
the events and the year of occurrence, don’t you see some form of correlation? That
is Tai Sui Fa (太岁法) of Xuan Kong Liu
Fa.
The facing of this
site does not conform to Cheng Men Jue. Let us sit back and observe what
happens after 2016….
