I understood that this coffee shop was recently closed down (around Feb time)

Friend: Seems like XKLF so so only leh ....

Me: Why you say that? 

Friend: 2017 is period 9 correct?

Me: Yap

Friend: You see the Qi Kou at South West conform to Golden Dragon principle (金龍訣) but the coffee shop was closed down within few years...

Note: For those who are less familar with XKLF, Qi Kou at North, South East, South West and East in period 9 conforms to Golden Dragon principle and is considered auspicious for Qi reception

Me: When was the shop opened?

Friend: Should be around 2017 because the flat on its left was completed and ready for move-in during this period

Me: Yes you are right about the Qi Kou but you recognized the Ci Xiong (雌雄) formation wrongly!

Friend: Huh?? Cannot be ....

Me: This is neither a receiving Qi formation (纳气局) nor a receiving inclined Qi formation (动气局) ....

Note: Considering the sensitivities involve, site photos will not be shown here; We will discuss base on google earth in good spirit of exchanging/sharing pointers.

Most practitioners will conclude that the Qi Kou (气口) is at South West. This is correct. Unfortunately, the Cixiong formation in this case is recognized incorrectly.

The pitfall that most practitioners have is unable to rationalize when a physical Qi kou is not a Qi Kou. In this example, it is neither a receiving Qi formation (纳气局) nor a receiving inclined Qi formation (动气局). Don't let your eye fool you. 

Now let us assume that he is right about the Cixiong formation. Even so there is high likelihood that the business will not survive. This is another pitfall in applying Golden Dragon principle.

Let me share with you why with the following pointers:

• What are the criteria that constitute a period transition?2017 is period 9 and there is no doubt about it. But does it mean that all premises will be in Period 9 after the transition?
• When we say a Qi Kou conform to the period (Golden Dragon principle), does it mean that we will be receiving period 9 Qi from the Qikou? What are the mechanisms involves and how can we determine this?
• Is there a difference between receiving Qi from Qikou and versus receiving Period Qi?

If you are unable to rationalize the above mentioned, perhaps you should consider reviewing what you have learned…..

The answer lies in 形气 vs 卦气 vs 时气

Therefore, it not XKLF that is so so but rather he have just landed on blind spot that most would have ….

Form Specialist Naked Eye (形家長眼法)

Enthusiast level

What can you say about the following 4 shops?

Shop C takes on the Tiger embrace formation (虎过堂). Such formation 'attracts petty people, prone to argument ... ' etc

Shop A, B and D assume the Dragon embrace formation (龍过堂). Such formation 'fosters good relationship, noble man …' etc

Both C and D cashier counter are tucked right to the wall which constitutes the Forcing Tiger formation (逼虎). It is considered to be 'inauspicious as it promotes discord, bad temper and in serious case causing hurt' …etc

If you are able to identify the formations and state the associated manifestations for each shop as above described, you are at the enthusiastlevel.

Intermediate level

Are you able to identify the following?

1. Which shop sales staff is the most stuck-up?
2. Which shop merchandise is expensive but sales staff are not pushy?
3. Which shop sales staff is highly service oriented?
4. Which shop is likely to over-price their merchandise?

If you are able to identify the shop characteristics with a 1-liner logic for each case, you are probably at the intermediate level...

What can you say about the manifestation entails by the following bed rooms?

The bed rooms take on the Tiger embrace formation. The 'wife tends to be more vocal, nag, domineering towards the husband, both likely to engage in arguments ...' etc 

I believe these answers can be easily found from books or internet.

But to be at the intermediate level, you need to be able to answer 1 question:

'What is the difference between the extra-marital affairs associated to each bedroom?' This means: 

• Which one whenever there is an opportunity arise for the husband, he will be discovered and stopped?
• Which one where everybody knows about the husband's affair except the wife?
• Which one the mistress is accepted into the family and is planning for kid?

If you are unable to distinguish them, unfortunately this means that your Feng Shui skill remains at the enthusiast level. You will be wasting time trying to find answers from book or internet. This is because no one will pen down secrets in writings.

The key to the answers lies in the orientation and combination of the form  (形). It is only when you have figured out the logic behind the application of orientation and combination, then you are considered to have entered the intermediate level.

Which unit you will rent in year 2014?

What you are looking at is a condominium stack comprising of 4 units located in the North side of the country. The units are accessible by 2 lifts and staircases which are behind each lift.

Unit A and B is receiving external Qi coming from the South West and North West respectively. Unit D is partially receiving Qi from the North East (small fraction from North). Unit C does not receive external Qi at all.

Enthusiast  Level

For those who are not familiar with XKLF, it is good to know that receiving Qi from South, West, North West and North East in Period 8 (1996 to 2016) is considered auspicious (conform to Jin Long requirement 金龍訣) for use. This is all it takes to appraise a site in XKLF ...

If your answer is to rent B and avoid A this means you have acquired the basics of XKLF.

Between unit C and D, which is the 'better' one and why?

Obviously, D is a better choice because "it receives Qi from North East while C receives no Qi ..."

If your answer is D, you are at the enthusiast level. Well Done!

Intermediate  Level

To be at the intermediate level, you need to be able to answer 1 question:

'Between B and D which is the 'better' one and why?'

Unit D has a better good head start (probably in career) than B. This is due to "flying star #1 (resource star) & #3 (discord star) that arrive at unit D & B's main door respectively. Moreover, in 2016, #8 (wealth star) will comes knocking at 'D' door ... "

Unit D is indeed 'better' than B but if your reasoning follows along the line of flying star, unfortunately you have just missed the main points of XKLF ....

Unfortunately, this means your Feng Shui skill remains at the enthusiast level. You will be wasting time trying to find answers from books or internet. This is because no one will pen down secrets in writings.

The key to the answer lies in applying XKLF as a 'single technique' instead of splitting it into 6 pieces. It is only when you have figured out the logic to apply as a whole, then you are considered to have entered the intermediate level. This will be taught in our XKLF Practitioner course....

Professional  Level

To share with you a little more, let us assume you are left with unit B and C. To be at the professional level, you need to be able to answer 1 question:

'Between B & C which should you choose and why?'

Unit B is a better choice because it is "receiving Qi conforming to Jin Long while C is not receiving any Qi .... "

As a XKLF practitioner and your reasoning follows along the line of Jin Long and receiving Qi, unfortunately you have missed the essence of XKLF ....

Nevertheless, you are still within the intermediate level. This is an example of dealing with Feng Shui grey areas using XKLF. This will only be taught in our XKLF Masters course....

The answer:

To complete the story, here is what happened when comes to the end of Period 8 in 2016

D: I selected this unit for my client. During their stay their combined business earnings up by 25% ...

C: The husband's career progressively went up; he received an overseas job offer and the family migrated for better tomorrow ....

B: The usual couple in the corporate world coping with daily work errands ...

A: We don't know anything about this unit as it is rented out to a group of foreigners. We are only aware that the tenants come and go....
