SMRT Feng Shui good or bad?(Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

If you think SMRT Feng Shui is bad then you may want to reconsider your opinion. One of my clients sent me the price history of SMRT share and he asked me this question: “If Feng Shui is no good how come it is still able to make money during the years 2005 to 2011?”
If you think SMRT Feng Shui is good (very unlikely one will think it this way) then how would you justify the recent incidents that had happened?
Some attribute the incidents to excessive drilling, which disturb the earth Qi during the construction of the Circle Line. But it does not answer why SMRT make money during this period.
The real answer can be found in these photos & based on the following key points:
  • What is the difference between a water mouth (水口) and Qi mouth (氣口)?
  • Is this building receiving water or Qi and which period it is aligned to?
  • When does Qi mouth become Wind mouth(風口)?

If you are clear with the above 4 points, pay a little bit more attention with the pictures and you should be able to find the answer. It is obvious.
Some also observe that the lady CEO appears to manage the company better than the current CEO (man).  Don’t agree? But as matter of fact, SMRT share price rises above $2 during her term as CEO. On the other hand, the current CEO ended up apologizing to the commuters due to the recent flooding. The flooding incident also reflects negatively on his leadership suggesting poor work culture and potential staff issues within the company which he had also acknowledged.
Does it mean that she is more capable than him? My 2-cents comment is that Heaven and Earth is not on his side.
From the Naked eye (形家長眼法) perspective this is a typical 隂胜陽衰formation which by principle prosper woman and petty people (小人) . How to ‘See’?
  • First you take reference from the main gate that faces Raffles City
  • look at the front side (朱雀) and ask yourself is Raffles city very much higher than SMRT building?
  • Next look to the right side (白虎) and ask yourself is it relatively higher?

Therefore what is happening is in effect the manifestation (克应) of the form. Refer to my blog on "A different naked eye system" for the reasoning logic
Many also observed that 2011 Rabbit is the tipping year for SMRT where disruptions become increasingly frequent and apparently peak in 2015 Ram year. Some are sharp to point out the train collision occur during the rooster years (1993 & 2017).  But why there is nothing serious in 2005 rooster? Could it be just a coincidence? Again the answer lies in the photos and the 4 key points. The Tai Sui year is just a matter of trigger.
Now here comes the ambiguity in assessing Feng Shui. I understood that the door at the façade was closed and visitors are advised to use the main gate facing Raffles city. So which facing would you use as the reference in your assessment? Is it the façade (South facing), the main gate (South East facing) or the back gate (North West facing)? For me, I wouldn’t bother much because in Xuan Kong Liu Fa(玄空六法) the site facing is derived based on land formation (依形而立). Therefore, the so call door/façade facing only add points if the site is already prosperous. That said facing does play a critical role in Tai Sui analysis and if you do notice I am using the main gate as reference for Naked eye.
Good or bad Feng Shui for SMRT is not the main point. The point I am trying to demonstrate is that having bad Feng Shui does not mean one can’t make money while business can also fail with good Feng Shui.
What I can and have shared is just the tip of an ice-berg in ‘Seeing’ Feng Shui. If you are interested to know more you may have to pay me a visit personally.

Keep or sell? (Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

20 Nov 2017 my relative give me a lift home. During the journey she asked me whether she should keep or sell her condo.
Relative: Someone is interested in my unit but the offer is not ideal for me.
Me: Then keep it
Relative: Can you be more constructive?
(I noted the registration number of a car in front of us: 5827
Me:  Not easy to sell due to competition
Relative: Yap there are 2 units putting up for sale within the same stack
Me: Maybe you should find a good agent to help you sell
Relative: I am the agent
Me: Hmm I not sure what going to happen but you need to watch out of losing money.
Relative: Oh yes I am offering above market rate co-broke commission to the buying agent. That why he is trying to swing his buyer to my unit....
Me: Honestly the buyer's offer seems good but your unit have growth potential
Relative: I am getting decent income from rental. Should I keep?
Me: You decide. If you really want to sell, the max achievable is $1250 psf.
She: You are right! Initially, I am marketing my unit at $1269 psf for almost 1 year. No offer until the buyer agent swing his buyer to my unit at $1204 psf
Me: This is what we call 劫财卦(Rob wealth Gua)
Relative: Huh!
Me: Never mind. You can try to push a little bit more to compensate for the commission loss.
Relative: Ok!

Agnostic Gua (Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

4/11/2017, my wife and I was at a retail mall (white goods) to shop for a stove for my parents new house. It was a huge mall and we don't have a clue where to look for.
She: Let's check the directory.
(I looked at my phone and the time showed 1831)
Me:  No need, the stove section is at the back.
She: You sure? Gua say so?
Me: Yes and it is situated at the back but on left side of the mall
(We are at the main entrance which is at front right side of the mall.  We went in all the way and found the stove section. )
She: Your Gua is half correct leh. The stove section cover from right to the middle back.

(Honestly, I scratched head too, until we walk few more steps and realized a restaurant . I paused for a moment to think )
Me: Bingo! This restaurant sell cooked food. Here is where the real stove is .....
She: Giggled

Feng Shui wonder of rubbish chute (Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

Will you set up a stall that is directly facing the rubbish chute cum refuse collection center?

Well the rubbish chute seems to prosper this roast meat stall in the coffee shop. The Q during lunch time is always this long.
I was there last Sat with my relative. He told me he could not see why a stall such a stall could outshine the rest. Apparently most of the coffee shop patrons are here for the chicken rice.
I told him my 1st encounter of such a prosperous food stall operating beside a rubbish chute is a Briyani stall in Beach Road.

“Ya right there is also a Michelin star Pork noodle stall in Crawford lane which is also beside a toilet and the waiting time can be up to an hour or more” he said. I was told that the toilet is at the left hand side (Dragon) of the stall. I was kind of surprised by what he described and I promised myself to pay it a visit soon.
Anyway, while he was queuing I managed to find out online this roast meat stall has been operating for 10 over years.

According to Xuan Kong Liu Fa, it has a 雌雄Ci Xiong formation that is aligned to period 8 金龍Jin Long (Golden Dragon) and that is all it needs to prosper.

That said it is worth pointing out the stall is facing South East and this orientation has the effect of icing the cream, adding points to the already prosperous site.
If you don’t believe me it is understandable. The point I want to make here is that a site’s prosperity is determined by Feng and Shui itself, i.e. the external environment. Whether it facing rubbish area or not or whether the door or stove is in the auspicious sector or not, they are not the key to a site’s prosperity. The same principle apply to your house unit. This is because the very 1st line in the classic 青嚢序 Qing Nan Xu (the executive summary to Qing Nan Classics)already state: 楊公養老雌雄,天下諸書對不同.先金龍動不動,次察血脈認來龍.“Master Yang spend his lifetime see Ci Xiong …., Ascertain the Jin Long ....”
However, in this case the rubbish chute does weigh in. So if you intend to set up business it may be worth considering areas near the rubbish chute or toilet area and who knows these features might work wonders on your business ……

Floor plan & Unit number Feng Shui (Reblog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

I frequently received emails & texts seeking advice on house Feng Shui. Most of them ask me to assess online by providing me with the unit floor plan or the unit number.
Do you think it is possible to assess Feng Shui based the furnished info? The answer is yes but there are blind spots.

Now would you trust a prescription by a doctor who base on your description of the symptoms merely over a phone call?

1. Feng Shui assessment is complicated. Feng Shui impacts a person’s well-being in 5 areas: wealth, fertility, nobility, longevity/health & marriage. In Chinese it is known as 财丁贵壽婚
Each area can be further subdivided into smaller scope that needs to be accounted for in order to have a comprehensive & clear audit.
Let us look at wealth as an example. It can be divided into 5 scopes: wealth source財源, wealth potential財勢, wealth luck (timing) 財運, wealth magnitude (how much) 財量and wealth reserves (savings) 財庫.

2. We can assess wealth reserves based on floor plan and wealth source based on unit number. Among the 5 scopes, wealth luck (when does it come) and magnitude (earn how much) are the deciding factors to whether the house Feng Shui can bring you wealth. But they can be only assessed on site.
I am sure you would not want a house which is assessed to be prosperous in wealth reserve but requires more than a decade to fill up right?

3. Of course it does not come free when you engaged a Feng Shui consultant to assess on site. But if you objectively compare, the consultation fee is very likely to be less than 5% of the total renovation cost. In case the house Feng Shui is lousy and you have to move out, can you tagged along the expensive renovation with you?
The consultant fee is fractional if you weigh it against the financial commitment of house. I am sure you would want a house that can bring you immediate prosperity.

Therefore for me, I will not trust phone call based medical prescriptions.  What about you?

Dynamic divination (Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

Last week (29 June) my client treated me to some snacks after assessing a unit. We had a short chat ......

Client: What do u think about my bonus this year?

Me: (I noted the sequence 1038 and scribbled on a serviette tissue) You already know how much you were getting.
Client: Hee hee make a guess leh

Me: What is your highest commission achieved so far?

Client: 8 to 9k

Me: hmm your bonus not fantastic at most 12.5K

Client: (surprised) How do you know?
(He show me his bonus letter and allowed me to take a picture but with company logo and details masked out)
Me: I also know your company recently have become more popular but is experiencing tight cash flow

Client: Yes that is the current situation!

Me: (Smile)

Client: Should I leave?

Me: You must have made a name for yourself in your company too!

Client: How do you know this? Are you a medium? Yap I am being looked up as the expert in an upcoming product that our unit is trying to push.

Me: Hee hee. Don't worry ok to stay put ......
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is not King Wen (文王卦) or Plum Blossom Yi (梅花易)  divination.
It does not require rocking coins in a tortoise shell or compute to transform time of day into a Gua (卦).

It is called the Xinyi divination (心易占) , "1秒起卦,3秒断卦,5秒断吉凶"
It takes 1 sec to cast a Gua, 3 sec to decipher, 5 sec to know the outcome.
The best part is that it is dynamic and flows with the conversation

Prosperous Business (Re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com)

Many Feng Shui masters emphasized the importance of door facing and for some see it as the deciding factor to a prosperous business outlet. Yes, they are right but the Rojak and Biryani stall do not have a proper door. Worst still the back of the Biryani stall is a refuse chute area where most people will shun using this place for eatery business. They defy the odds and prosper. Why?
Many Feng Shui masters always tell their customers that compass cannot replace a Luo Pan. This is because the compass measures the magnetic field while the Luo Pan measures the direction of the Qi at the Door that enters the premise. Only with this bearing, it is possible to analyze the distribution of Qi in conjunction to the floor space planning within the premise. Therefore, the auspicious sectors within the premise can be determined and harnessed to usher in good business. Yes they are right but both the Chinese stir fry and Fish head steam boat does not have a main door. Their sides are opened. So which facing should be the right one?  Perhaps door doesn’t matter at all?
Some masters may attempt to tilt the main door by a couple of degrees aiming to overhaul lousy Feng Shui into an auspicious one. Yes they are right too. But do ask yourself how many prosperous shops that you come across actually have tilted doors? Go see for yourself those very long Q prosperous shops and outlets. Let us take a look at Chinatown. There are so many money changers  but only this one is always queued. This bakery started off with a humble shop in 2008 and today it has 9 branches in Singapore!

Does it mean that we should ignore the facing of main door? My answer is main door plays an important role in harnessing good Qi but it is not the key to a prosperous Feng Shui. The issue here is many masters over sell the importance of door facing while it is the Feng Shui formation that dictates the auspiciousness of the premise. Don’t believe me? You are welcome to discuss with me further......

A different naked eye system ? (Last Part)

The following is a re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com

The same reader after following the blog on 'A different naked eye system', he pointed out to me that the Left (Dragon) side of the Rojak stall that I have previously posted (Refer to blog on Prosperous business) is in fact Yang (road). Therefore the stall is expected to be prosperous according to his Naked eye logic.
Before you start raising doubts with our Yi Logic, let us look at the queue of this vegetarian stall.
Assuming the façade (where the queue and tables are) as the facing, the right (Tiger) side of the stall is a walkway and therefore considered as Yang. This contradicts his logic but how do you explain the long queue?
In fact, the front of the stall shares the same direction as the flow of the queue. Suppose we use it as the facing, the right side where the queue side is again Yang (open area). Worst still, the back (Black Tortoise) side which prefer Yin (Stillness) is now Yang (Walkway). Without back support (贵人)how is it possible that the business remains good? He is also puzzled as I explained...
Does it mean we have a battle of 2 Naked eye systems?
Receiving Qi is the primary reason behind the long queue. You may start to ponder about the efficacy of naked eye technique or perhaps should we focus on formula alone?
Let me explain base Yi logic using wealth accumulation as an analogy.
To accumulate wealth 1st you need to have at least an external source (go out and earn) therefore Yang. Next you need a secure vault to contain the inflow. This is akin to savings and therefore Yin.
If there is a leak in your vault but to someone who is resourceful, it may not matters much as inflow is greater than outflow. He probably can even afford big ticket items in life.
The problem starts when the leak becomes comparable to the magnitude of inflow. This is common to most people but through proper money management they can still survive. What it means is that modest saving, think thrice before swapping card for Prada, unable to cross Altantic or Pacific every year but no problem for JB every weekend if they want to. This is 'normal' as God has decided we shall obey the Gaussian law in the distribution of wealth.
The issue becomes chronic when the leak is greater than the inflow and to patch the issue some ended up borrowing resulting in negative flow…
So ask yourself which do you prefer?
Now the vault (savings, 库)is akin to the structure of your house (form) and therefore Yin.
External source (make money, 赚钱) is akin to the formless Qi your house is receiving. So you should know why Chinese always associate wealth as 财库. Note to be exact, source should be the source that emits Qi (氣口). Naked eye assess the structure while the formula that we advocate Xuan Kong Liu Fa (XKLF) looks at how to harness Qi from the environment and that is how a Feng Shui should be assessed. Therefore structure form is as important as receiving Qi in wealth accumulation. The main question here should be what is the optimal percentage between the two in Feng Shui that creates wealth? Next what are the formations that usher wealth, promotion/status, taohua... I am afraid you will need to pay me a visit to find out the answer.
To conclude, the answer for the long queue lies in this photo here.

A different naked eye system ? (Part 2)

The following is a re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com
Naked Eye formula - 4 Celestial Anaimals
I thought it would be more complete to share with you guys with a bit more on the Yi logic 易理 behind the Naked eye system. In particular, we will explain how the Yin Yang relationship for the 4 celestial animals (Green Dragon青龍, White Tiger 白虎, Black Tortoise 玄武and Red Phoenix 朱雀) are being defined for a site. These animals respectively denotes the Left, Right, Back and Front of a site.
First of all let us look at what is meant by Yin (隂) and Yang (陽) but due to the abstractness of the concept I will just state their features as follows:
  • Yin possesses the properties: Still (静), absorb/receptive(吸收) has a form(有形), internal(内), self (我) and therefore perceived as a ‘body’ (体). Let us termed it as Yin body.
  • Yang possesses the properties: Movement(動), disperse/radiating(散/發射), formless(無形), external(外), others (他) and therefore perceived as a ‘force field’ known as ‘Qi’ (气). Let us termed it as Yang Qi.
As mentioned in my previous blog, Naked eye (形家長眼法) Feng Shui system is developed from Hetu (河图) as shown.
Briefly, the Hetu is divided into 3 layers:
  • 1, 2, 3 & 4 are known as producing numbers (生数) and they form the inner arrangement. Inner is Yin therefore it represent a 'form' a 'body'
  • 6, 7, 8 & 9 are known as forming numbers (成数) and they form the outer arrangement. Outer is Yang therefore it represent the 'formless' Qi and in layman it is known as force field.
  • 5 reside in the kernel and is the separation distance between producing and forming numbers for e.g. 1(producing) + 5(kernel) = 6(forming). As such, this draws the distinction between inner and outer arrangement, which gives rise to an important concept in Yi where the inner (Yin) and outer (Yang) arrangements are used separately (生成分用).
  • Odd numbers (单数) 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 are Yang while Even numbers (偶数) 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 are Yin.
Let us imagine a Man (人) is lying on top of the Hetu as shown. Therefore, taking the Man as the subject reference, the inner arrangement of producing numbers represents his entire body that has a visible form (Yin body). Here comes the fun part. Let us consider the Hetu's inner and outer arrangement separately. We first look at the internal. The position of 1 which is Yang (agile) is located at the front with the legs, 2 being Yin (restricted agility) is at the back with the head, 4 being Yin is at the left with the left hand (restricted agility) and 3 being Yang (agile) is at the right with the right hand. Now do you know why we mostly right handed and our head are not as agile as our legs! Denoting Yang as '+' and Yin as '-' we have established the Yin Yang cardinal relationship (Left, Right, Back & Front) of a 'body'  base on Hetu:
Besides facial or body features, we as human tends to associate our kind base on each individual's character (abstractformless). The outer arrangement of forming numbers represent the characteristics that ‘emanates’ out the body. For example a person’s thinking capability (fast or slow thinker), specialization, habit, temper, moral values, inter-personal relationship, wealth, career etc.
You may be wondering how Hetu is linked to a person's character? Before we come to that, let us look at the Hetu's forming arrangement. We group the forming numbers according to even and odd. Using the same notation '-' as Yin for (6 & 8) and '+' as Yang for (7 & 9).
Yin is receptive and exhibit accumulative image. This means habit and specialization are Yin. Yang has a ‘kinetic’ nature therefore promotes the ability to innovate and visualize. This means thinking capability and intellectual are Yang.
By induction, we can also assess a person’s inter-personal relationship using the same logic. For example, Yin which exhibits a passive relationship. Therefore a kid (need to be raised), friend (need to be engaged) and woman (needs to be wooed) and they are categorized as Yin. Similarly, Yang exhibits a proactive relationship and so elder (take care of young), nobleman (help the needy) and man (woo the wife). So now you should know the reason why it is always the man propose marriage to woman and very seldom the opposite and why woman look for sense of security in a man.....
A person’s achievement in terms of wealth, career, and nobility can also be deduced with the same logic. For example, a person’s wealth (I earned from others) and career (I built) is Yin. A person’s nobility (titles suc as Tan Seri is other bestowed upon me) is Yang. Likewise for status/rank which is appointed by others too
So how do we apply the logic in Naked eye Feng Shui? Before we discussed the application we need to invoke a very important concept in Yi logic: single Yin can’t produce while Yang alone can’t grow (孤阴不生,独阳不长). As you may have already observed that the Hetu is built on balanced pairs of odd even numbers: (1,6), (2,7), (3,8), (4,9) & (5,10) leading to the principle of Yin Yang attracts (阴阳相吸) while same Yin Yang polarity will repel like in magnets.
Hence, with reference to a Man, the head (back) and left side require ‘stillness’ (Yin). If this condition is fulfilled, Yin Yang attracts, the outer arrangement of which represent this person characteristics (force field): thinking capability, elder, man, nobility etc will be lured to this body. Since Yin and Yang is balanced, we will know that this person thinking is sharp, has good relationship with elders/superiors, capable and hold high in appointments etc. However, if the back and left is subjected to ‘movement’ (Yang) this means it will repel the outer arrangement (characteristics). Therefore we know that this person is poor in thinking, does not get support from elder/superior, hold low appointments etc.
Similarly the legs (front) and right side requires ‘movement’ (Yang). If this condition is fulfilled, Yin Yang attracts, the outer arrangement that represents specialization, habits, friends, woman, wealth and career will be lured to this body. Since Yin and Yang is balanced, we know that this person has good habits, qualified specialization, enjoy warm relationship with juniors, receive strong support from friends, progressing careers and makes money etc. However, if the front and right is kept ‘still’ (Yin) this means it will repel the outer arrangement force field. Therefore we know that this person has fetish, incompetent skills, prone to arguments with juniors, receive weak support from friends, prone to obstructions in career and unable to accumulate wealth. Yi logic is easy isn't it?
The following is one of my audit case on office Feng Shui.  By looking at the decor arrangement what can you infer about my client?
My client is a researcher. Her work requires good focus and thinking. The desk is where she carried out her work and therefore we will reference to the person who is using the desk. What we need to do is to check whether this person's left, right, front and back whether they conform to the Yin(Still) Yang(movement) requirements.
Her left and back is surrounded by a wall which is 'Still' and conforms to the Yin Yang requirements. Hence, we know that she thinks well, and receive support from bosses.  Next the door entrance is where all the movements are and while her immediate front is an open space and therefore her right and front conform to Yin Yang requirements. So we know when comes to work she is a specialist, probably meticulous (good habit) has good rapport with colleagues. Got it? 'See' Feng Shui is dead easy right?

A different naked eye system ?

The following is a re-blog from www.yxlfengshui.com
A local reader visited my blog posting on “Naked Eye at a glance”. He asked if I had made a mistake in my drawing.
In his email he attached the above clips and highlighted to me that the left side (Green Dragon) represented ‘Man’ so it should be Yang while the right (White Tiger) which would be woman and should be ‘Yin’. A harmonious Feng Shui house is Yin Yang balanced and required both the back and right conform to Yin while the front and left conform to Yang as depicted. Therefore, the left side being ‘Yang’ open spaces was preferred while the right being ‘Yin’ preferred buildings.
In my reply, I told him he was correct in his logic but there was no mistake made in my drawing. The fundamental difference between the 2 systems pops out because mine was derived from Yi (易) logic’s Hetu (河图). He should not worry about it.
Anyway I pointed out the following conflicting points in his logic:
Right is Woman which is Yin therefore shouldn’t the right preferred Yang instead to achieve the Yin Yang balance (隂陽相吸)?
Building or mountain which is already Yin by nature and hence by having them on right side (White Tiger) won’t it amplify Yin? No doubt it prosper woman, but note that White Tiger side also means petty people. Therefore, shouldn't there be more arguments and how harmonious can such house be?
Road or open space which is Yang by nature and hence by having them on the left side (Green Dragon) and shouldn't it end up promoting Yang. Because Yang is radiating by nature (阳主发射) this imply man will be ‘weakened’.
Hence according to the drawing(his) of a ‘well-balanced’ Yin and Yang, this suggest woman is in control and overpowering man (妻夺夫权). In such cases the likelihood of arguments are high (petty people) unless the husband doesn’t mind a capable wife earning more. But does the wife mind an incompetent husband in the longer term?
I am not saying our Naked eye system is correct and his logic is flawed. The point made here is that our system is based on Yi (易) and in which the Hetu( 河图) and the Early Heaven Gua (先天卦) are the 'toolkit' for it. Why? Because it serves just well (this is Yi principle too)! It is just like till today we use Newtonian physics to explain motion omitting relativity. Einstein did not create relativity to prove Newton wrong but merely expand the range of physical conditions over which the theory applied.
However, what is important is the Yi logic used in the deduction is constrained within Yi avoiding ambiguity like in his logic. Next, taking the example from my previous post, there is a famous Naked Eye quote: “龍边带路主犯偷盗” which means a premise is prone to theft if there is a road (Yang) on the Dragon side(Left). His logic will not be able to explain the theft .....
